LOBB NEWS

Winter Work 2009/10
As always a lot of work has taken place in the winter months and I hope that you will all notice the difference.

Internet facilities,The Ark
Our Internet facilities will again be available for our customers.

The Weather at Lobb Fields
We ask all our friends to please read this. We had a glorious Easter last year; several of our friends did not come because of the poor forecast. If you do have doubts about the weather do please give us a ring first and we will tell you what we honestly think. We may not always be right but I think we will be better than many of the experts.
As you may be aware this area of North Devon, to be more accurate a two mile wide strip running from Westward Ho! to llfracombe, has its own micro climate; if you look at the rainfall map of the British Isles you will notice that this little area has the same rainfall as parts of East Anglia. We will normally have a fine day at Lobb when showers are predicted for the West Country.

Arrivals at busy times
Whilst our new computerised system has much improved the rate of booking in during busy times we have been giving a lot of thought to speed up access by our clients onto their pitches. This is not possible to achieve as some work has to be done to prepare the pitches for the new arrivals. However we have devised a system whereby those arriving early can book in and then temporarily park their caravans until their pitch is ready. Thus they will then be able to go away to the beach, or wherever they want, and return later during the day to move onto their pitch. Naturally if the pitch is free when they arrive they will be able to move straight on. We will see how it works and if need be do some fine tuning

Making Contact
We are going to write to all those who are on our lists, which go back many years, enclosing our new brochure, and also explaining all the work that has taken place during the last few seasons. There have been changes in Managers and Staff, on the site and in the facilities we have to offer.

LOBB LIVE SURFING KIT SHOPPING

Equipment on Site
The Surf Store will open for the season, run by Vaughn; we hope this will make your holiday equipment planning easier. So have a look at the Surf Store page which will be subject to regular updates, or at his web site When you have hired your board from Vaughn, and if you need lessons, you should visit the good and effective Surf South West Surf School at Croyde; have a look at the School's web site to see all that is on offer.

Now this is Vaughn; surely he looks the perfect man to trust, and from whom anyone would confidently buy or hire surfboards?!

Food on Site
This year it will be Katie's Sub Shack, same Shack but different owner, who will provide new and popular facilities at Lobb Fields; excellent food of your choice at very competitive prices. For our guests it is no effort, no cooking and no washing up!

(New picture to follow after we open!)

Shopping in Braunton

Surfing
For surfing shopping enthusiasts there is the well established Tiki International; the shop is in the middle of Braunton and the factory at the end of South Street. They both have excellent kit to buy or hire; www.tikisurf.co.uk is their web address. For action Surf South West provides great instruction; see for yourselves at www.surfsouthwest.com .

Car Parking
There is now a small charge for parking in the Braunton Car Park but of course it does mean that almost invariably there is space to park which will make your shopping so much easier
